PROJECTS

Other Projects Worthy of My Time and Energy

The SINGULARITY

Ten decades of American Popular music from the 20s through to the present day. Emphasis on a swing beat but wide open to the other rhytms of popular music from bossa to folk to rock.

Grassahol

I spent nine years playing with Grassahol, in Columbus, Ohio, playing acoustic American roots music including bluegrass, blues, Americana and folk. Loved the harmonies of voices, instruments and personalities.

The Aamazing Rakes

Clean pickin' and tight harmonies and the songs – some classic, some obscure. The acoustic joy behind Rake's music is a journey across years and genres, stretching the boundaries of acoustic music - it's AAmazing!

Brooks Brothers

American Jazz music from the swing era and classics from the decades that followed. Scott and Ray Brooks are both Brooks Brothers (but not to each other). The Brooks Brothers (duo, trio or quartet) combines singing and jazz stylings to create a show to remember.

Bethlehem on Broad Street

On Christmas Day, the volunteers at Bethlehem on Broad Street feed up to 1,000 needy folks at the First Congregationalist Church, downtown Columbus. I have the pleasure of producing the music program in the dinning room each year.

Ohio Arts Council

Ever wonder how the State of Ohio funds the arts? It is done through programs such as Arts Access, where I've served as a panelist, reviewing grant applications and recommending arts funding for the many, many outstanding arts projects of merit throughout the state.
